Compelling factual programs, a frank and funny travel show, engaging new formats and a riveting investigative true crime series are amongst the highlights in our new-to-market slate.

The exciting line-up on ABC Commercial’s new-to-market scripted slate includes the final season of the multi award-winning Black Comedy (HD 6 x 30’) from Scarlett Pictures, and the high stakes thriller Pine Gap (HD 6 x 60’) from Screentime, the makers of Underbelly and Wolf Creek.

On the factual slate, titles from Wildbear Entertainment include Forces of Nature (HD 4 x 60’), a fascinating four-part series that explores the apocalyptic forces that nature visits our ancient land, and Road to Now (HD 6 x 60’); journeying through time from the fall of the Berlin Wall and end of the Cold War to now, this enthralling series unpacks the key events that have shaped the modern world.

A highlight in the factual line-up is the riveting Revelation (HD 3 x 90’) from In Films, a ground-breaking documentary series on the criminal priests and brothers of the Catholic Church, their crimes laid bare for the first time in their own words. In a series of television firsts, Revelation features interviews several of Australia’s worst serial paedophiles – including an ordained priest and a religious brother - taking cameras into the courts to follow the drama of their criminal trials. Audiences will not be able to look away.

From Southern Pictures, Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian (HD 3 x 60’) is a travelogue of our most famous new Australian as she travels around the country investigating what it takes to be an Aussie, and the compulsively watchable series Silent No More (HD 3 x 60’), which examines the issues around #metoo and is unmissable viewing for all.

ABC’s format offering includes the galvanising Fight for Planet A: Our Climate Challenge (HD 3 x 60’), from Lune Media, an engaging new format with immediate action at its heart. Following five diverse households, Fight for Planet A: Our Climate Challenge takes a positive approach to reducing our carbon footprint, helping to protect our planet for future generations.

The hotly anticipated fifth season of ABC’s hugely successful You Can’t Ask That (HD 8 x 30’), now in production in multiple territories around the world, rounds out a strong format slate offering.

ABC news & current affairs documentaries already generating strong sales are the topical Coronavirus (HD 1 x 60’), illuminating the beginnings of the deadly epidemic and how it sparked a global emergency, and Black Summer (HD 1 x 60’); through some of the most viewed social media footage from the Australian bushfire crisis, this emotional special interviews the everyday people at the coal face of the fire’s destructive and terrifying ferocity.

Additional new-to-market international stories include: Insectageddon (HD 1 x 30’), exploring why insect numbers are dropping like flies, The Coal War (HD 1 x 30’), investigating Germany’s decision to declare an end to its coal industry, Tourist Mecca (HD 1 x 30’), witnessing Saudi Arabia move to open its doors to journalists and travellers, and At The Edge of The Earth (HD 1 x 30’), revealing how the pristine land of Alaska’s indigenous tribes are coming under threat.
