Guitarist Slava Grigoryan won the Award for Best Classical Album, for Bach Cello Suites Volume I.
Following a massive week at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, ABC Music took home a total of FIVE Golden Guitars at the Country Music Association of Australia Awards held on Saturday night.
From the incredible album Hard Light, Travis Collins collected three Golden Guitars, which included Single of the Year (‘Just Another Girl’), APRA AMCOS Song of the Year (‘Call Me Crazy’) and Male Artist of the Year. The coveted APRA AMCOS Song of the Year recognising song writing excellence is a particularly significant win for Travis and ABC Music Publishing.
As well as celebrating his multiple wins, Saturday’s event also marked an important milestone for Travis who, despite numerous nominations previously, received his first Golden Guitar award.
Recent ARIA award winner Sara Storer took home two awards, taking her total Golden Guitar Award tally to 21. Sara won Bush Ballad of the Year (‘Amazing Night’) and Female Artist of the Year.
ABC Music artists were well represented at the Awards event. Both Sara and Travis took to the stage to perform, as did Adam Brand with his new single ‘Get On Your Feet’. Caitlyn Shadbolt and The Wolfe Brothers also entertained the packed crowd.
Lee Kernaghan closed the event with his new single ‘Outback Club Reunion’, highlighting the 25th anniversary of his iconic album The Outback Club.
Natalie Waller, General Manager of ABC Music, was thrilled with the wins.
“ABC Music is home to some of Australia’s most loved Country artists, and to have so many of them nominated and recognised at this year’s event is testament to that. Big congratulations go to all our nominees and to our winners, Sara and Travis!”
